Historic Harlem African Burial Ground Project

Presented by archaeologist and Easton resident Michael Pappalardo

Michael Pappalardo has led excavations and analysis for the Harlem African Burial Ground Project for over a decade. Established in the 1690s, the cemetery served as a burial place for free and enslaved people of African descent. He will share some of the project’s most compelling results, including the discovery of an earlier Indigenous site, with photographs of the excavation as it unfolded. Questions from attendees are welcome.

Suggested donation: $15 per person, pay at the door
