The Narrative of Primus: A Lineage Woven into America’s History

is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The book follows my journey in learning of the life of an enslaved man living in eighteenth-century Norwich, Connecticut and follows his descendants through the Revolutionary War and Civil War. It also re-publishes Primus’s 6 page narrative written into an 1824 Lydia Sigourney book, attempting to inject his narrative into the discussion alongside that of William Grimes, James Mars and Venture Smith. The work is based on years of primary-source archival research and is written from the perspective of a direct descendant of the enslaved.
